A Prayer for Peace
Hear me, Oh Father,
for my heart aches on this day.
My brothers and sisters hurt each other,
with words filled with pain and strife.
Help me, my Father,
may my arrogance fall away.
Peel off the coat of pettiness
and reveal a heart that’s humbled.
Lord, I cry for your guidance
as I surrender my sorrow to you.
May my words be like tiny seeds
and sow the crops of forgiveness.
Gracious God, shine your light now,
and soften the stones of contention.
May my hand reach out in love
and touch someone willing to receive.
Aid me in this, Oh Lord.
I wish this family to reconcile.
Help us again love one another
and bring glory to Your name.
Amen.
